Batista's Diary: Look how big I've got!

Hi Guys,

Mummy brought her friend to see me yesterday, look how much I've grown!!!!

I'm two and a half weeks old, my eyes are open and I'm very shouty at the moment!! I keep trying to crawl off of her lap... I'm going to be a naughty one when I'm older!

Mum is very excited to bring me home in 5 weeks time, she's even got a little tag for my new pink collar... she won't let me wear it until I'm older - I wish I could wear it now!!

They'll come and see me again soon, and I'm sure they'll let me pose for some more pictures!

Bye for now!!

Baby Batista: An Introduction

The day has finally arrived...

After 6 months of searching, saving, collecting and persuading -- I've finally been able to find a teeny tiny kitten!

I literally don't think I could be anymore excited than I am right now! In precisely 6.5 weeks, i'll be picking the little kitten up from my friends house and bringing her home to my humble abode, where she'll be spoiled rotten with her own bedroom, numerous toys and treats, and a mummy who loves her very much!

I realise that I must sound like an absolute mentalist right about now, especially as the munchkin is actually an animal and not a human being... but to be honest - I couldn't care less.

Those of you who've been reading my ramblings for a while now will know that I love animals, I honestly can't think of anything that I love more... (well, apart from my family and my friends -- but that's kind of a given) cats in particular are my favourite, and I'm so pleased that I'm now able to find a little one and can give it a comfortable and safe home!

I've ensured that I'm a complete kitten expert and have prepared myself by reading kitten manuals... actually like a proper baby I suppose, that's how I'll be treating her anyway hehe!!
I know exactly what I need to do when we bring my little Batista home and also have absolutely everything I need for her already... even down to a bed (which you can attach to the radiator) and a set of pretty little bowls *yay*

Here are some pictures of baby Batista kitten, I think you'll agree, she's an absolute bundle of gorgeous, fluffy perfectness!!!

[Please excuse the blurriness, she's a wiggler!]
She's absolutely adorable - perfect splodges of black and white.... only just opening her eyes at the tender age of 1 week and 2 days!

I have no idea how I managed to choose between all the sleeping bundles of fuzziness, I think I just picked randomly! It's strange how she looks a little bit like a previous pet of mine (called Jacko), he was also black and white...

I'll be going back to visit on Monday so I'm sure I'll have many more photos then! She'll have almost doubled in weight by 2 weeks of age and will have fully opened her eyes!

EEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!

Trend: The "Heavy" Nail

This post is a little out of the ordinary for me... I've been looking at various images and tutorials for a while and just wanted to share a few little bits and pieces with you... here goes:

An art which has been used widely in Japan and China for some time, 3D/Heavy nails, is being favoured more and more in western countries, such as England and the USA, these days. It's becoming popular with celebrities and even local/smaller salons are beginning to train staff to create extravagant patterns and designs.

Here are some of my favourites... I'm not sure I would wear them myself, but they are pretty darn cool!

Celebs such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyonce have recently been seen donning the "heavy nail" during their shows and other public appearances...

Review: Lush Ltd. "The Comforter"

Yep, you guessed it - another Lush review... I'm working my way through the products purchased during my latest visit to the Bath Lush store! There's more to come *yay*

I've been dying to get my hands on this baby for months!!! Unfortunately I've had to resist... until now! Man oh man I was excited about "The Comforter" - and it didn't disappoint!

Firstly, the comforter smells amazing, like berries and cream, scrummy hey?! They give a hell of a lot of bubble bar for your pennies, I chopped mine into three pieces with a normal kitchen knife (surprisingly easy to do!!). There's more than enough for a long bubble filled bath in each third.Y

What do Lush say?:

"This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant. When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for purple water and creamy bubbles. The warm aroma of cassis absolute is relaxing so relaxing that you'll go to bed feeling happier and the world will seem brighter the next day."

What does Katie think?:

The best product that Lush have to offer.... by far! It looks 100% times more lovely in person that it does on the website...

I know I say this about most products I try from them, but this truely is a joy and incredible value for money... your bath is guaranteed to be bursting with blackcurrant bubbles!!

I honestly can't recommend this enough, maybe one day I'll find a bad Lush product?

Review: Lush Ltd. "Oatifix" Face Food

I'm pretty sure you'll be sick and tired of my Lush Ltd. reviews by now... so I apologise for adding yet another one to my ever growing list!! I just had to write a post dedicated to the decadent Oatifix face mask....
After another trip to my local retailer, I returned with a bag filled with goodies and a satiated "Lush" thirst!
My latest haul consisted of the following:

1. "The comforter" bubble bar - £3.99
2. "Honey Bee" Ballistic - £2.95
3. "Eau Roma Water" Toner Spray - £6.75 (250g)
4. "Breath of Fresh Air" Toner Spray - £3.45 (100g)
5. "Oatifix" face mask - R.R.P £5.25

The team at Bath Lush threw in this face mask for me for FREE - everybody likes a freebie right? Especially when it's from the most fantastic store in the WORLD! Maybe it's because I practically live there... they decided to treat their most loyal customer? Hmmm...

Moving on...

Here's what Lush claim:

"Use Oatifix to clean and soften dry and sensitive skin. You will be delighted to hear that Oatifix smells as tempting as a very posh breakfast. Oats are calming, ground almonds give you an exfoliating scrub, bananas are softning and illipe butter reduces redness. Get the Oatifix you need."

My tools:

The Almighty Oatifix mask!
Textured body puff
Hair band

What did Katie think?:

One word:   I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E!!!!

This is one of the best face masks I've ever used and for a face mask addict like me, that's a big statement. The texture is perfect (even if it does feel a little bit weird... ) and it melts into your skin as you apply it. Some other masks are stodgy and difficult to apply, to be honest this one looks like it would be - but it's lovely!
You could do with a spatula of some kind to help you plaster your face in the stuff, but the "melting" does make it easier...
The product smells gorgeous, like a cross between marzipan, oats and sweeties - good enough
to eat (although I didn't attempt it this time!)

It was easier to remove this time after I acquired a particularly handy textured body puff...
My face felt fresh and pampered afterwards, I love the feeling of flushed out pores and tightened skin after a good facial!

I'm yet to try the Cupcake face mask from Lush, I think that'll be my next purchase. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to Oatifix... if it even compares at all!

Love Love LOVE this one!!! Good going Lush Ltd.
